Would your marketing work on you?

The internet buzzes with a rich marketing lexicon, viral marketing, social media, product advocacy etc. All these techniques can work at different times, with different products/services, with different approaches. But it’s not enough to just slap these on top like a layer of icing on a cake.

Before you considering any ‘new age’ marketing tactics or strategies (before considering any new marketing actually) you need to step back, and take a long, critical look at your marketing.

Does it really make sense? Are you really promoting the values your product and services offer prospects? Would you buy into it? Would you believe it? Would it be perfectly clear to you? Would you explain your service to a friend the way your marketing does? Would your marketing work on you?
