Dell Earns $1mil Through Twitter

For the those sceptical about all that ‘new age’ social media marketing, there’s a great run-down of businesses using the popular micro-blogging service Twitter to generate business and service customers from Internetnews.com. A pretty impressive example is how Dell generated $1mil from promoting sales and special offers to clients using twitter to follow Dell.

Twitter doesn’t have a huge following in comparison to sites like Facebook and MySpace, but for a company like dell it’s a very well targeted user base. There’s a lot of potential here for smaller companies too. In fact, here’s a post I wrote about using twitter for business.
